Mr Franco Sogliani joined the Cardiac Team at the Manchester Royal Infirmary in 2013.
He obtained his medical degree in Turin Italy in 1987 and was trained at the London Chest Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital in London. He completed his advanced training in Coronary Artery Revascularisation at the Leipzig Heart Centre in Germany and was appointed as a consultant cardiac surgeon at Blackpool Victoria Hospital in 2002. He specialises in Coronary Artery Revascularisation to treat valvular heart diseases using the cross-clamp technique.
He has an overall mortality of less than 1% for all cardiac procedures which is one of the lowest in the UK. In addition, he has a specialist interest in Minimally Invasive Transcatheter Valve Replacements (TAVR).
